A fab competition to celebrate!

So what are we celebrating you might ask?

Well, I'm very proud to say that our collars have been featured in this month's edition of Your Cat magazine!

I am an avid reader of the magazine and have been since we got Tabitha nearly 3 years ago now! It's a great read for new cat owners as well as more experienced ones too.

3 of our collars have been included in the 'Collars and tags' feature- Tabitha's collar in green, navy blue with white stars and the latest Hello Sailor design in red.

It's super exciting and to celebrate I am launching a brilliant competition with an amazing prize (ooooh!)

For anyone who makes a purchase from my Folksy shop between January 1st 2013 and February 14th 2013 will be entered into a draw to win this gorgeous Moleskine Cat Journal!

It's from their 'Passions' collection and is a brilliant place to track all things related to your furry friend.

It's worth £15.99 and is beautifully made. The little video below gives you some more details about it (it's super cute too!) so take a peek

You can also find out more details on the Moleskine website

So all you need to do is make a purchase from my Folksy shop (it can be any collar, not just the ones featured in the magazine) and you will be automatically entered with a chance to win the Cat Journal (you don't need to contact me separately). Orders must be placed between 01/01/13 and 14/2/13.  The competition closes at midnight on 14/2/13.

A winner will be selected at random after the competition closes. They shall be contacted via Folksy or by the email address used to make the purchase. The winner will also be announced on Facebook and Twitter. The prize will be shipped to the same postal address as that used to make the order. Entries are accepted worldwide.

Please share this with anyone you think would like a chance to win this fab prize!

Good luck!
Jen

Disclaimer - I purchase the prize myself with my hard earned pennies : )

Happy Halloween!

It's that time of year when all sorts of spooky things start to happen..... odd noises, a scary face in the window.......... boo! Did I scare you? : )

It must be nearly Halloween!

Do you like this picture of Tabitha? (For those who don't know, she is my 2 year old tabby cat and the inspiration behind Tabby Cat Collars!) This gorgeous picture was created by my sister Carol. She is a really talented illustrator and I just love how this has turned out. You can check our her blog Carol Draws for more cute pictures!

You might have noticed Tabitha has some new collars in the picture.

I love Halloween as it's such a great excuse for me to design something special for your kitty.

This year I have 2 designs for you:

Lime green spiderweb / cobweb - don't worry, no spiders included
Spooky skeleton - The neck bone's connected to the shoulder bone, the shoulder bone's connected to the..... you get the idea ; )

Both are available in my Folksy shop. Make your kitty look super spooky!

I'd love to know what you are up to for Halloween!

Hope you have a great October!

Take care, Jen

PS Here's a scary picture of the real Tabitha for you! She is actually yawning but I think she looks damn frightening!

We heart Disney

Don't you just love Disney?

We were lucky enough to spend a few days at Disneyland Paris and had a fab time!

As you can see the sun was shining!

It's always a little bit sad when we are away from home because I really miss Tabitha cat.

When we were searching the gift shops (of which there are loads!) we found these really cute cat bowls which we had to get Tabitha. They feature all the cats of the Disney films - how cool is that?!

Do you know all the character's names?

We got two bowls for her - one for food and the other for water.

Inspired by my trip to Disney, I have created a gorgeous lemon yellow glitter collar!

Can you guess which character made me think of this gorgeous yellow colour? Yep, that's right! Belle from Beauty and the Beast

You can get your hands on this gorgeous collar for your own kitty from our Folksy shop. It's a snip at just £6! It's also good to mention that the glitter doesn't rub off - phew - you don't want a sparkly kitty!

Please note - this is not an official Disney product (i'm just inspired by this beautiful Disney princess!)

Take care

A very special collar

Hello! Massive apologies - it's been many months since I have written a blog post. However, this one is pretty special so I hope you will like it.

Let's set the scene...... Me and Mr TCC have been invited to a wedding. My good friend James and his lovely lady Jennie are getting hitched on 25th August (which just so happens to be my Mum's birthday too). We received a pretty handmade wedding invitation which had a gorgeous piece of purple ribbon wrapped around it.

James and Jennie have a fantastic cat called Cosmo.

Purple ribbon + Cosmo = ideas light bulb pinged up over my head!

So I decided to take the ribbon from the invitation and make it into a special collar for Cosmo, so he could be part of the wedding.

I'm pretty chuffed with the result. I don't normally work with satin ribbon so was a bit worried when my sewing machine decided to malfunction, but we got there in the end!

Cosmo the Pagecat looking very dapper in his new collar

The beautiful handmade invite

Opened up - ribbon ready to be carefully cut away

Ta-dah! The finished collar : )

I was so happy that James, Jennie and Cosmo were pleased with the collar. I am very excited about the wedding and looking forward to getting dressed up, having a dance plus some wedding cake (gotta love the cake!)

If you have some ribbon you would like to be made into a special collar, why not get in touch? jen@tabbycatcollars.co.uk
Take care

A competition to celebrate two special birthdays

Hi everyone

Has been a little while since I ran a competition and what better reason that a couple of special birthdays.

The first was our very own tabby cat, Tabitha. She turned two at the start of the week. She may well be two but in her head she is still a tiny kitten who gets up to all sorts of mischief.

The second is Tabby Cat Collars itself. We have been up and running for a a year now! Wow - the time has gone so quickly.

So to celebrate both these important markers, we are giving away not one but two collars!

They are two of our latest designs - sugar pink hearts and navy and white stars. The selected winner will receive both collars.

To be in with a chance of winning both of these collars, all you need to do is leave a comment on either our blog, Facebook or Twitter pages (making sure you follow or like at the same time please). The winner will be selected at random. Competition closes at 12.00pm (midday) on Sunday 4th March and the winner will be announced shortly after. UK entries only please.

Good luck!

A tasty prize from Petz Kitchen

Hi everyone

I have been meaning to post this for some time! A couple of weeks ago Tabitha won a prize courtesy of the lovely Rachel & Sarah of Petz Kitchen.

They bake lovely biscuits for both cats and dogs and are based in Kent (which is also where I live).

I first heard about them when I had a stall at Christmas Fair at school nearby. They had a stall there too and although I didn't get a chance to speak to them, I remembered their business name and looked them up when I got home.

They run a competition every week for the chance to win a pack of their pet biscuits. All you have to do is send them an email with a photo of your cat (or dog) and they enter it into the draw. Tabitha was lucky enough to win with this photo.

When the biscuits arrived they were packaged really well in a strong cardboard box so there was no chance of them getting crushed.

The cat biscuits come in 4 flavours - chicken, salmon, sardine and tuna at a price of £2.95 for 175g (plus P&P).

Tabitha got to try out the salmon flavour which she enjoyed. The biscuits are much larger than the Science Plan ones she is used to so they took her a few attempts to work out how to eat them. She soon go the hang of it though and happily munched away. Just to confirm - the biscuits are designed to be treats and not replace your cat's normal diet!

I had read on the website that human grade ingridents are used so yep, you can guess what's coming next, I thought I would have a little taste as well! No photos of me trying them out i'm afraid but I have to say they were actually quite nice! Not that I will make a habit of eating them you understand.

Why not pop over to their website to take a look? The biscuit and competition details can be found on there. They are also in Twitter @petzkitchen Always nice to support a local business who make handmade items (much like myself!)

Take care
